Early appointment keeps the process smooth — and read your Offer and Acceptance contract carefully for condition dates.

Downsize unwanted items, and take a drive around your new neighbourhood — shops, cafes, parks, bus stops.

4wk

Get packing boxes & book inspections

Contact your broker to arrange mortgage document signing, and book any termite/building inspections your contract requires.

4wk

Confirm RCD and smoke alarm compliance, and organise someone to watch children or pets on moving day.

2 Weeks Out

The final stretch.

2wk

Sort insurance & start packing

Sort out house insurance and begin packing in earnest.

2wk

Complete the ID process with your settlement agent, and confirm no contract conditions remain outstanding with your real estate agent.

2wk

Book your removalist, contact Synergy/phone/internet/gas providers, and organise mail redirection.

Common Questions

Straight answers to what movers ask us most.

When should I start planning my move?

Start around 6 weeks before your move — set a budget, appoint a settlement agent, and carefully read your Offer and Acceptance contract for key condition dates.

When should I book a removalist?

Book around 2 weeks before your move, though booking earlier is recommended as good local removalists can be booked out well in advance.

Do I need building or pest inspections before moving?

Only if your contract is subject to one — check your Offer and Acceptance contract for condition dates and book these around the 4-week mark.

How does moving day tie in with settlement?

Your settlement date is set by your contract, and key handover typically follows the next day for principal residences — plan your removalist booking around that date.
